Leaked: Pixel 9 Pro’s Stunning New Features That Will Blow Your Mind
Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 smartphones are expected to bring significant improvements, including a much-needed upgrade to the fingerprint sensor.
According to Android Authority, all three Pixel 9 models (Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL) will reportedly feature an ultrasonic fingerprint reader embedded under the display. This should address user complaints about the sluggishness and inaccuracy of fingerprint sensors in previous Pixel phones.
The current Pixels rely on an optical sensor, which can be unreliable under certain conditions and is limited to 2D scans. Upgrading to an ultrasonic sensor promises faster response times, improved security, and better performance with wet fingers or displays.
In addition to the fingerprint sensor, rumors suggest Google may also be implementing a display upgrade for the Pixel 9 series. Leaks hint at the use of dual-stack technology, potentially resulting in a brighter display with a longer lifespan and lower power consumption.
New leaks also reveal a possible new color option for the Pixel 9. Videos circulating online showcase a vibrant pink variant of the standard Pixel 9 model. These videos, reportedly from Algerian retailers, confirm a redesigned camera bar. Unlike previous Pixel models (Pixel 6, 7, and 8), the camera bar on the Pixel 9 appears shorter with rounded corners, matching earlier leaks from this year. This design element resembles the camera bar on the Pixel Fold released last year. The leaked Pixel 9 also shows dual rear lenses accompanied by an LED flash. The larger Pixel 9 Pro is expected to boast a triple-lens system with an additional periscope zoom lens.
Google is scheduled to unveil the Pixel 9 series alongside the next generation of Google AI at a launch event on August 9th.
