Screen Actors Guild Awards 2025: Full List of Nominees Revealed – Surprising Picks and Snubs!
Nominations for the SAG awards have been revealed and it’s estimated that this will cause a huge uproar in Hollywood and will get people talking, the same can be said for the SAG as they are known to host the most prestigious awards due to their influence on the oscars. This years SAG nominated a few people who didn’t get the recognition they deserved which includes Winston Duke and Alexandra Daddario.
Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon and Barbie won ‘Outstanding Motion Picture Performance by a Cast’ but it wasn’t a surprise when The Holdovers appeared alongside these movies. Moreover, seeing Dune: Part Two absent from the nominated movies was disheartening given the tremendous praise received by its ensemble cast.
When looking at the nominees for the Best Actor, it is evident that Austlin Butler, Cillian Murphy, and Leonardo Dicaprio are likely to win it. However, what was surprising was seeing Joaquin Phoenix absent as he fully embraced the role of his character in the biologically natural movie Napoleon. It’s noticeable that Mescal, who starred in the Guild award-winning film All of Us Strangers, is doing well in circles of Hollywood.
On the television scene, HBO has once more emerged as the victor, with Succession and The White Lotus running neck to neck in the category of Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series. There is new room for creativity as The Bear and Wednesday become part of the comedy pool. Jenna Ortega’s nomination in the category of Outstanding Female Actor in Comedy Series is testament to her becoming a hot new favorite. Fans of Ted Lasso and Abbott Elementary will be pleased, as those two programs successfully retained the top spots in the comedy categories.
With the glamor and glitz scheduled for February 2025, everyone is invested about who will go home with the top prizes on one of the most beautiful evenings of the year. Old and new cast are promoted by this year’s SAG Awards, because they will not disappoint and it’s surely a night to remember in the entertainment world history.
