Wicked Movie Story
Act 1: The Beginning of an Unlikely Friendship The story begins with the birth of Elphaba, a girl born with green skin, in the magical land of Oz. Despite her powerful magical abilities, Elphaba faces constant ridicule and rejection for her appearance. Her younger sister Nessarose, who is unable to walk, is adored by their father, leaving Elphaba isolated.
Elphaba and Nessarose are sent to Shiz University, where Elphaba meets Glinda, a popular and glamorous student. Though the two are initially antagonistic, an unlikely friendship begins when they are paired as roommates. While Glinda pursues her desire to become a high-society witch, Elphaba secretly aspires to meet the Wizard of Oz and learn to control her powers.
Act 2: The Wizard and Betrayal Elphaba is invited to meet the Wizard, where she believes her dream of doing good for the people of Oz will come true. However, she soon discovers that the Wizard is a fraud, using his influence for his own selfish gain. She learns that the animals of Oz are being oppressed, and her mentor, Doctor Dillamond, a talking goat, has been stripped of his ability to speak.
Elphaba decides to rebel against the Wizard’s tyranny, earning the label of “Wicked Witch.” Glinda, meanwhile, chooses the path of fame and stays loyal to the Wizard, leaving their friendship shattered. Torn by betrayal, Elphaba’s love for Fiyero, a charming prince, also complicates matters, further deepening the divide between her and Glinda.
Act 3: The Rise of the Witches Elphaba, now in hiding, fully embraces her identity as the Wicked Witch of the West, while Glinda becomes the beloved “Good Witch” in the eyes of the people. As the people of Oz are manipulated into believing that Elphaba is a threat, a series of confrontations unfold. Nessarose becomes the Wicked Witch of the East, leading to tragic consequences when Dorothy arrives in Oz.
In the end, Elphaba’s journey concludes in a powerful, surprising twist. As Dorothy unknowingly fulfills the Wizard’s plan, Glinda is left to rule over Oz, but with a sense of loss and reflection about the choices that shaped her and Elphaba’s destinies. The truth about what it means to be “good” or “wicked” remains in the hands of history, leaving audiences questioning the nature of morality itself.
